Role
Alan is responsible for design and simulation, development and test, and business systems. Alan also has oversight of Integral Powertrain Limited’s internal combustion and hybrid vehicle Emissions and Climate Test Centre.

BSc (Hons) Design and Manufacture, University of Central Lancashire. Chartered Engineer, Member of the Institute of Engineering Designers
Experience
In 1985, Alan started as an apprentice machinist with British Aerospace, progressing to the design office and aircraft projects including Typhoon. He joined Cosworth Racing in 1995, working on cylinder heads and valve train development as a Senior Design Engineer, before moving to Mercedes High Performance Powertrains in 2005. His remit included the IC engine, KERS and ERS, before becoming Chief Engineer on the V8 programme and Head of Reliability for the V8 and V6. In 2016 he joined Integral e-Drive as Chief Engineer for Design & Analysis.
Outside of work
Alan enjoys running, walking and attempting to play golf in his spare time. He is a level 2 qualified rugby union coach. He has 2 grown up sons who both actively participate in sport. When he is not running them around country to different sporting events, he is a keen supporter of Northampton Saints and a lifelong F1 fan.
