Experience
Graham Belgum has an extraordinary wealth of experience, with a strong focus of bringing products to market, specifically related to electric vehicles. He joined the company after three years at Fortescue Zero (formerly Williams Advanced Engineering), where he served as General Manager, Heavy Industry, responsible for the creation of a new capability to develop and industrialise modular battery power systems for off-road applications (notably mining). Prior to this he was President and then CEO of Optare leading their electrification program and enabling the creation of Switch Mobility (all part of the Hinduja Group). Preceding this he led the transformation of Condor Ferries (and the procurement of Condor Liberation) and prior to this, First UK Bus (improving the reliability and reducing the operating costs of the 9,600 fleet of buses). His early career (23 years) was in the Army, during which he spent a period responsible for overseeing the engineering management of all the Army’s Challenge Main Battle Tanks.
Outside work
Graham is married with a grown-up son and daughter. He has a passion for rugby, reading history and global travel. He is also an independent non-executive director of Thera South West, which enables people with severe learning disabilities to have a good life and take up leadership roles in society. In his spare time, he is a mentor to future industry leaders.
